Where I can find samples of cessna cockpit sounds such as the stall warning horn?
January 20, 2010
I am looking for a site where I can find and download sounds typical of a cessna airplane cockpit, some of these sounds are the stall warning horn alarm, the avionics, landing gear warning.
Do a web search… Google, Dogpile?

Charter a plane and record them yourself.
Other options include peeling them off YouTube videos, or seeing where they are in the aircraft models used by flight simulation programs. X-Plane (the simulation I use) stores its noises in wav files.
The 172SP stall warning is a very nasty noise. The "avionics" sound is a 400Hz whine.

Since you didn’t say which Cessna… The stall warning sound on an older single engine Cessna is created by air passing over a reed valve in the wing leading edge. It sounds like a kid’s toy kazoo.
There is no avionics or landing gear warning, because it’s fixed gear and analog gauges.

try sounddogs.com
they have a huge catalog of sounds (including aircraft sounds)
