A Review of the Kingman Spyder MR2 Paintball Marker
March 1, 2010
If you play scenario ball or woodsball at all, eventually you may prefer a paintball marker that has a little bit more realistic gun look than many of the markers available. The Kingman Spyder MR2 is an excellent choice for your first military style, electronic paintball marker. Spyders are known for their reliability and ease of use and maintenance. The MR2 is no exception, and combined with its hot looks it is a very fun marker to use for any type of scenario play. While for some the MR2 is a bit bulky for speedball, others have used it with great success.
Weight – The Spyder MR2 has a little more weight to it and may take some getting used to if you’ve been firing only ultra-light markers. If you are looking for a marker with a more realistic heft to it, however, the MR2 is perfect.
Ball Chopping – Most users of the MR2 have reported that out of the box, this Spyder has a tendency to chop balls. The problem here is that the original detent that shipped with the MR2 doesn’t work well at all with a force feed hopper. Either don’t use a force feed hopper or replace the stock detent as soon as possible. Kingman has said they have fixed this issue on newer MR2s – but if you are buying used or from Ebay test it out before going to the field. The detent is fairly simple to replace and will save you a lot of hassle on the field.
Reliability – The MR2 functions near flawlessly over long periods of time. It is highly recommended to use compressed air rather than CO2 as this will extend the life of your marker and function much better in the field. Compressed air will also function much better in the long run if you are planning on firing very quickly.
Design – The MR2 is designed to fit ergonomically and balance naturally in the shooting position. The marker is constructed almost exclusively of metal and feels very solid when holding it. While some mil-sim replica markers feel very awkward when rigged up for paintball, the MR2 is the exception. The feel is very natural while maintaining an authentic look.
Stock Barrel – The stock barrel included with the MR2 is decent, but many paintball players prefer to upgrade the barrel of a marker first. The MR2 includes a volumizing shroud which will limit the types of after market barrels you will be able to use with it as some will not fit appropriately. If you are planning on upgrading the barrel, do a little research to make sure that your choice will fit before purchasing it.
Overall the Spyder MR2 is an excellent choice of marker for woodsball and scenario ball. The sturdy construction holds up over time to the abuse that you will put your marker through on the field. Test out your marker before heading out to the field, however, to make sure you have the proper detent installed. If not, its a simple enough upgrade. For the cost, the Spyder MR2 is an excellent value.

STOL Demo with the SibWings Cessna L-19/O-1 Bird Dog
March 1, 2010
This is a short video of me landing a Cessna O-1 Bird Dog ( www.sibwings.com ) with full flaps at the Strom airfield in Washington. I know I didn’t hit the center line but I think this shows pretty well that the Bird Dog is capable of very short landings. The scenery is the FTX Pacific Northwest scenery by orbx ( http ) with over 450 enhanced default airfields, due for release on February 28th.

JFK Airport: Short and Long Term Parking Options
March 1, 2010
When we are flying to exotic places for vacation, or even stressful conferences for work, the last thing we need is more stress or more hassles. Getting transportation to and from the airport can be just that. Buses are unreliable, and carrying your luggage on them can prove problematic. Even trains can be delayed, making you miss your flight. While taxis and car services can be convenient, they are very expensive. It seems that the only surefire way of making it to the airport on time at an affordable price is to take control of the wheel and drive yourself.
Not so fast, you might say, what about the hassle of driving to and from the airport and dealing with finding affordable parking? We have all been there, circling around the airport, searching for a lot that is not going to break the bank, to no avail. So we head back to the airport parking lot, since we do not want to waste any more time, and pay the high airport lot prices just because we are scared of missing our flight. Well, not anymore! Now you can search online and find airport parking lots near dozens of airports in the country for discount prices. Online sites provide detailed information of all the lots in the vicinity of the airport with short and long term parking options available. They also give addresses and directions to the lots for your convenience. The best part of it all is that you can reserve a spot online. We all love making reservations; they give us a sense of accomplishment, completion, and best of all, a guarantee.
JFK Airport has two parking lot options available off-site: SmartPark JFK and AirPark JFK. Both lots are less than a mile from the airport, and provide a shuttle service to and from the airport. If you are worried about your luggage, don’t be, they also offer curb-to-curb services as well as luggage assistance. The details provided online are comprehensive, and they even have addresses and driving directions to the lot of your choice.
Avoid the hassles of airport transportation and parking onsite, by finding a JFK airport parking rate online today!
