Cool video – so how many hours TT and Multi did you have when you got accepted to Colgan?

@Ps3capt the ONLY and I mean ONLY thing I would go to ATP for is a Multi-Comm. add-on. But even that is only because they have nice Seminole’s, equipment, and cross country, time building instructors. So, great planes, and terrible think for themselves instructors.

@EatMyPropwash why is it the worst mistake of his life > is there better flight schools ?

  4. EatMyPropwash on August 7th, 2010 7:40 am

@articulaytor worst mistake of your life…

  5. EatMyPropwash on August 7th, 2010 8:04 am

worst… flight school… ever… it’s like taking a drink of water using a fire hose crammed down your throat. Nothing but time builders, and mistake makers. I’ve worked with NUMEROUS former ATP students and they hate every bit of them.

@cfiacademy1 Once he racks up a few thousand hours at Colgan and gets that captain promotion, I bet he can afford to go to Vegas at least a few time /yr.

well to fly with the majors it is recommended that you have a 4 year degree. but due to the competitive nature of aviation a 4 year degree is really requierd to give you the best chances of getting the job.

Great vid, i hope you get what you’re aiming for in the future! Just wondering, do you need a degree to fly for major airlines? I’ve heard yes and no to this question, anyone want to clarify it?
    Thanks

  21. brewyou on August 7th, 2010 5:14 pm

Got a new video up cruising the clouds in the almighty SF340, take a look.

  22. marick626 on August 7th, 2010 5:56 pm

it depends on how much you fly per month. $70 an hour is good but airlines like Southwest pay 5 year FO’s more than $100 an hour according to airline pilot central.

great videoe and congratulations! im starting the airline career training program (instrument – MEI) in phoenix next week. how exactly does the coast-to-coast cross country work? also, is the citation included for the high alititude endorsement or do u have to pay extra for the jet transition?
