Tell the pilot he’s first rate!

I’ve never seen that before. 1 gear? After 3 tries, he chose a smart thing to do and landed on the grass, to avoid closing the airport and adding sparks when the undercarrage hit the ground.

It was missing the emergency procedure as FlyinandDrivin said.
In addition I would try to touch with the minimum speed and full flaps extended.
I could no hear the sound of the stall horn.

Nice job pilot! Kept composed and calm and brought your 210 safely and you walked away. AND, that airplane is very fixable.

Great controlled crash landing. The best,,, as you walk away to fly again another day!

Good Job landing it so no one was hurt.

Just a few things to remember for the Future.
    1. Before landing, Mixture Idle Cut-Off
    2. Ignition Key Off and Out
    3. Open cabin door to prevent jams caused by airframe distortion.

@marco21falcon is not because they have vacume pump history of failure ?

  14. marco21falcon on August 8th, 2010 1:45 pm

210′s seem to have an aweful safety rating

  15. jmm006 on August 8th, 2010 2:11 pm

yea, if the plane’s still usable its a great landing

  16. fernfeyes on August 8th, 2010 2:29 pm

@umahuma4 ..There is an alarm that goes off when the throttle is pulled back to a certain point without the landing gear being fully down..as in this case. In a normal situation it would serve as a reminder to the pilot to put his feet (landing gear) down.

That’s why they call it the tangle footed double breasted chicken hawk..

If you walk away from any crash landing, It’s a good landing. That’s what my instructor says.

Believe me,he’s got more shit on his mind than an alarm buzzer.Besides, the headset reduces the volume compared to what we hear.
