Australian UFO – The disappearance of pilot Frederick Valentich (Unsolved Mysteries)

The Valentich disappearance describes an event on 21 October 1978 when 20-year-old Frederick Valentich disappeared in unknown circumstances while piloting a Cessna 182L light aircraft over Bass Strait, Australia. His intention was to land at King Island, pick up three or four friends there, and return to Moorabbin Airport. During the 127 mile (235 km) private flight, Valentich advised Melbourne air traffic control he was being accompanied by an aircraft about 1000 feet (300 m) above him. He described unusual actions and features of the aircraft, reported that his engine had begun running roughly, and finally reported before disappearing from radar that “That strange aircraft is hovering on top of me again. It is hovering and it’s not an aircraft”. No trace of Valentich or his aircraft was ever found, and a Department of Transport investigation concluded that the reason for the disappearance could not be determined. The report of a UFO sighting in Australia attracted significant press attention, in part due to the number of sightings reported by the public on that night

Acapulco.- Una avioneta de la Fuerza Aérea Mexicana (FSM) cayó en las playas de pie de la cuesta en el puerto de Acapulco, hasta el momento se desconoce la suerte que corrieron los dos oficiales que tripulaban la aeronave. El hecho, de acuerdo a testigos, se registró alrededor de las 09:30 de la mañana del miércoles 6 de octubre, aproximadamente a 600 metros de distancia de la base naval. Sin embargo, el reporte en el sistema estatal de Protección Civil se registró hasta pasadas las 09:50 de la mañana, por lo que fue a partir de ese momento en que alrededor de medio centenar de elementos de la FSM comenzaron a buscar en el mar la unidad y los elementos que la tripulaban. De acuerdo a fuentes militares, la avioneta tipo Cessna, propiedad de la Fuerza Aérea era tripulada por dos oficiales, un piloto aviador y el navegante, pero hasta las 14:00 horas se desconocía la situación en que se encontraban. Ramón Magaña, quien se encuentra a cargo de un predio cercano a la zona en que cayó la avioneta, dijo que pudo observar el momento en que la misma realizaba varias maniobras en el aire, pero de pronto se desplomó cayendo hacia el mar. Emergency Landing [ATC]

On Sunday, July 18th, I was flying a Cessna 172 from Midland, TX to Baytown, TX doing a routine pipeline patrol. Upon entering Houston Intercontinental’s (KIAH) Class Bravo Airspace, I began to experience a very rough engine plus a rapid oil leak. The flight ended in an off-airport landing. Myself and the airplane sustained absolutely no damage on landing.
