Truman Parrot Show – How to Teach Basics of Flight and Recall

Here is how I taught Truman to make short flights and eventually his first recall. trainedparrot.com Check out the article because I wrote about all the details and steps for making this happen. The video covers footage from several days of informal training up to the first recall. I will take some more pictures of them and launch a website for anyone interested in buying a pair. Truman is a Brown Necked Cape Parrot, a Poicephalus Robustus Fuscicollis. Catalinbread DLS Second Demo – Stacking

Here’s the Catalinbread Dirty Little Secret stacked with three of my current favorite dirt boxes. With a little tweaking it seems to love all of them. I ran the DLS at 18v for more headroom and better dynamics. It runs great at 9v after having tried it at 18v I can never go back. Give it a shot. Recorded with my Brierley Handwound Pickups loaded Clapton Strat and the Laney VC50 2×12. I stuck a bit of ‘verb on at the end to give it some space (IK Multimedia CSR Vintage Plate). “See, at 5000 feet elevation, here in the Prescott area we avoid the sweltering heat of the desert valleys or the ice pack conditions of neighboring Flagstaff at 7000 feet.” Says Scott Baxter, Arizona real estate agent with Realty 2000. Life in Prescott is temperate on all fronts, a phenomenon Baxter calls the Goldilocks lifestyle: not too hot, not too cold, but just right.

Understandably, anyone who’s spent their entire working lives in the wintery north will find Prescott’s warm dry climate a hands down winner. Low cost of living, low crime rate, small town sensibility and convenience are also selling points for those who choose to kick back here.

Frist Solo Cessna 152

Here is my very first “solo” mission. I’m flying a Cessna 152, call sign 757 Julio Bravo. She’s a beautiful bird and I will never forget how good to me she was that day. The flight was at Palomar Airport in Carlsbad, CA. My flight instructors Dave Sanchez and Patrick Mayhan were there for moral support. Gracias amigos.
